Painting Out the Front Entrance

As much as we enjoy the thrill of home-improving, our abilities here at the House From 1800 are a little limited, meaning...I do a LOT of painting:)  Paint is my medium of choice when it comes to revamping a space.  Check out what I did last spring to the front entrance:

This is the before pic (yes, we need new mini-blinds--*blush*):

And this is the after:

Feel free to ignore the piece of blue painter's tape still attached to the right window.  My zeal for painting is exceeded only by my eagerness to photograph!  Also feel free to politely overlook the small beagle face peeking out the left window.  I don't know that dog, he's not with me.  That's Olympic exterior paint in shades of green and burgundy around the windows, and a nice, bright white on the door itself.

The entrance is only the beginning for the exterior of our home.  The guy before us was even more of a DIY-er than we are, and he fixed the vinyl siding by patching it with pieces of various shades.  As much as I enjoy a nice, fuzzy calico kitten, the look is not so charming in vinyl.  The plan was initially to get a little equity and then take out a  home equity loan for new siding, but that was before the infamous FALL OF THE HOUSING MARKET.  So next spring you may see pics of my paint job on the siding itself.  I've been contemplating...so consider yourself warned:)
